You can tell that the author put his heart and soul into the book. I've read the book twice already. I've been a spice Girl fan for 20 years. And, I love how the book breaks down all the solo careers. Geri Halliwell had an amazing run as a solo artist. I think any music fan would enjoy this book.
This book offers much more than merely a compilation of Google searches as one customer review asserts. There's the smart and savvy voice of the author. Quentin not only provides interesting critiques for every album, single and b-side; he offers thoughtful insights on how life experiences influenced the group and each woman to evolve musically.
Because much of the music covered in the book was not released in the States, I use the book as a guide to looking up their music on YouTube, which fortunately holds all of their releases and b-sides. It's a great pop music education!

I applaud the author for compiling this book which is why I gave it two stars but the price point does not match the product. I thought the book would be more hefty and larger ~ similar to a nice coffee table book. Unfortunately, it's a very small paperback book that looks like something you could create on Shutterfly. It also doesn't really hold any more information than you could simply Google. I ended up returning it.

This book is such a great review of the girls work as a group and as solo artists. It really goes from the beginning to now and everywhere in between. It has inspired me to go back and listen to the music with a fresh set of ears. Quentin's radio interview about Life in Mono got me excited for this book. I have read this book cover to cover and had many discussions about the girls their musical careers. This book really helps you focus on the music and not the public eye version of the Spice Girls. This book is great for anyone who is a high level spice girls fan to help introduce them to songs they might not be familiar with. This book is a great gift for any music lover from the 90's or for pop music. I can't wait to read more in this series so I can uncover music I am not so familiar with. Having been a spice girls fan for 20 years this book is an excellent gift.
